This course has no entry requirements, however the learner must be employed and be working in a Senior Manager role in order to satisfy the assessment criteria of the qualification.

You must attain a minimum of 169 Credits to gain this qualification, comprising 107 credits from the MANDATORY UNITS and a minimum of 62 credits from the OPTIONAL UNITS.

The TOTAL QUALIFICATION TIME (TQT) for this Award is 1690 hours, including a minimum of 485 GUIDED LEARNING HOURS (GLH).

*GLH = time spent carrying out activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor, including assessment if under supervision.

*TQT = GLH + preparation, study or other learning activities directed by, but not under the immediate guidance of, a lecturer, supervisor or tutor.

You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified NVQ assessor, who will work closely with you to produce a Portfolio of Evidence showing how you have met the performance and knowledge criteria for each unit within the qualification. You must attain a minimum of 169 credits to pass the qualification, which is graded as Pass/Fail.

Black card

Successful completion of this pathway means you pass the requirements to apply for a Black (Manager’s) CSCS Card.

It also enables you to gain management positions within the workplace, since industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role, and means you can become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders (MCIOB).
