This course has no entry requirements, however the learner must have access to an on-site working environment in order to satisfy the Onsite Assessment and Training (OSAT) element of the Diploma qualification.

You must complete/achieve a minimum of 6 Units to gain this qualification, comprising all 4 MANDATORY UNITS and a minimum of 2 OPTIONAL UNITS.

  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare
  • Conforming to Productive Working Practices
  • Erecting and Dismantling Access/Working Platforms
  • Moving, Handling and Storing Resources

OPTIONAL UNITS:

  • Installing Flexible (Non-Mechanical) Cavity Barriers
  • Installing Fire Stopping and Penetration Seals
  • Applying Non-Reactive Spray Coatings
  • Applying Thin Film Reactive Coatings
  • Erecting Fire Resisting Ceiling Systems
  • Erecting Fire Resisting Walls and Wall Linings
  • Installing Dry Cladding to Protect Structural Steel
  • Installing Fire Resisting Ductwork Systems
  • Installing Fire Resisting Timber Door Assemblies and Doorsets

The TOTAL QUALIFICATION TIME (TQT) for this Award is 1120 hours, including a minimum of 401 GUIDED LEARNING HOURS (GLH).

*GLH = time spent carrying out activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor, including assessment if under supervision.

*TQT = GLH + preparation, study or other learning activities directed by, but not under the immediate guidance of, a lecturer, supervisor or tutor.

You will be assessed by a qualified assessor with relevant occupational competence against a set of performance and knowledge statements derived from National Occupational Standards’ Recommended Qualification Structure (RQS) for Associated Industrial Services Occupations (Construction) Level 2.

Under instruction from your assessor, you are required to produce a Portfolio of Evidence showing how you have met the performance and knowledge criteria for each unit within the qualification.
