Ever wondered if there’s a qualification for installing masonry support, brick soffits, windposts, vapour barriers and cavity barriers on site? Well, now there is! Thanks to The ABC Assessment Centre, this Level 2 NVQ in Brickwork Technician recognises the work of operatives fitting vital construction products in cavities, upskilling them to Blue CSCS Card and Skilled Worker status.

This course has no entry requirements, however the learner must be employed as an installer operative / have access to an on-site working environment in order to satisfy the Onsite Assessment and Training (OSAT) element of the Diploma qualification.
You must complete/achieve all 6 Mandatory Units to gain this qualification.
MANDATORY UNITS:
- Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare
- Conforming to Productive Working Practices
- Setting Out to Form Masonry Structures
- Moving, Handling and Storing Resources
- Installing and Forming Specialist Masonry Elements
- Using Access Equipment Up to Six Metres
OPTIONAL UNITS:
This Level 2 NVQ in Brickwork Technician does not comprise any Optional Units.
The TOTAL QUALIFICATION TIME (TQT) for this Award is 540 hours, including a minimum of 324 GUIDED LEARNING HOURS (GLH).
*GLH = time spent carrying out activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor, including assessment if under supervision.
*TQT = GLH + preparation, study or other learning activities directed by, but not under the immediate guidance of, a lecturer, supervisor or tutor.
You will be assessed by a qualified assessor against a set of performance and knowledge statements derived from National Occupational Standards’ Recommended Qualification Structure (RQS) for Level 2 Brickwork Technician (Construction).
Under instruction from your assessor, you are required to produce a Portfolio of Evidence showing how you have met the performance and knowledge criteria for each unit within the qualification.
Successful completion of this Diploma means you pass the training requirements to apply for a Blue (Skilled Worker) CSCS Card
